Probably should have anticipated that with (almost) everybody gone, my productivity would drop to near-zero (if not below). Well, it's (hopefully) not a disaster; I've been busy enough that I should be able to get away with a short break.


All the faculty and postdocs in my group will be leaving for Beijing today or tomorrow. I won't be joining them. I did make major progress on my project, but not until a week after I missed the chance to go to China. I leave for Les Houches on 1 August.


Interesting summer plans shaping up: I'll be in Les Houches, France, for most of August, at a school on quantum field theory and high-performance computing. If it looks like my main research project will bear fruit soon enough, I may also be able to present results at the annual Lattice conference, which this year will be held in Beijing at the end of July.
